Commission Work
F.A.Q.s

I have an idea, how do I get started?
Send me an email and tell me about your idea! We will have a conversation to discuss details from the timeline, item dimensions, style, and pricing.
Is there any special fee for commissioned work?
No and yes; Commissioned work for standard inventory items and patterns is the same price as items selected from "inventory".  For example, you want 8 cereal bowls in the Starry Night Pattern, but I only have 2 available. You would then place that order with me in advance, and the bowls are sold to you at their regular stock pricing.

However, if you order a truly customized item, you will receive an order-specific quote for your item. This quote will include the base price for the item, as well as additional funds for the time required to produce 3 samples to identify our design and schematics.
What is the payment schedule for commission work?
Once you have received our quote, we will require a non-refundable deposit for 50% of the project pricing (not including shipping costs). This deposit will count toward your final bill.

The remaining bill is due upon completion of work, before delivery or at pick up, and will include the shipping costs, if applicable.
How long will it take to design and complete my work?
Customized designs can take quite a while, sometimes as long as 6 months, depending on how big the order is, how much is in the queue ahead of you, and how much time is needed for R&D on truly unique products. For instance, a set of our standard cereal bowls may be ready in as little as 3-4 weeks, yet a set of custom-shaped bowls with a hand-painted design may take up to 3 months.
Each commission will be given a more specific timeline along with the quote.

As a partner in custom orders, you will receive photo updates through the process so that you can enjoy the journey with me, from a clump of mud to the finished product.
