Amanda Amoroso, Founder & Potter
My passion is to create functional pottery with designs that reflect my surroundings, applied to forms that have been designed with intention. All my wares are made for everyday use, crafted and fired from cone 6 stoneware and finished with in-house glazes, and are thus microwave, oven, and dishwasher-safe.
I only sell products that I believe in, so that I can be confident that they will bring joy to your daily life.
In teaching, I enjoy providing a supportive and joyful environment where students build their skills, confidence, and curiosity. Each class is personalized to meet individual needs and goals.
Inspired by the bees that fill my yard, I aim to serve my community through thoughtfully made wares, mentoring emerging potters, and working in a studio designed for energy and water efficiency.
My History
I hold a BFA from Penn State’s College of Art and Architecture. After receiving the tutelage of numerous, tremendously generous mentors in sculpture, glass art, and ceramics, my family and I opened Mad Dog Artist Studios and Gallery in Pawtucket, RI. This vibrant multi-media workspace for independent artists still lives on, though now belongs to the next generation. I now work from my quaint little studio in Rockport, Maine, amidst nature and sharing my passion with customers and students aged 9 to 85.
